The
Meyerson has been called "music for
the eyes." This sparkling, jewel-like
building designed by the renowned architect
IM Pei opened in 1989 as the home of the
Dallas Symphony Orchestra. But it was designed
to be a multipurpose facility, so meetings,
receptions and even weddings are held here,
too. The Meyerson's centerpiece is the
McDermott Concert Hall, an elegant European "shoebox" style
music chamber with fine acoustics and
a magnificent concert organ with more
than
4,500 gleaming pipes. Free public and
private tours of the facility are available
year-
round.
